I remember watching my father, a miner, electrician and sailor, making silver necklaces for us in his workshop. Everyone had a workshop in the 1970’s! I still have those necklaces and I still have a profound feeling of home and comfort when I go into a workshop.

Making with metal, the feel, the coldness, the edges and the colours are where I find my sense of place and grounding.

I was fortunate enough to return to higher education in 2017 and complete an MA with distinction in Jewellery, at UCA Farnham. My work with memory began there and continues today through silversmithing, etching and metalwork.

I am proud to be a trustee of Making Space in Havant, a community-based craft organisation which supports makers and makes opportunities for people, who might otherwise not get them, to develop their design and making skills. Delivering community, centre based craft projects, kiln and workshop hire as well as classes.
